It's Memorial Day Weekend and phase 2 of Monster Garage is well underway. (See here and here for the first installments.) The mission: drywall. After Friday's work, 99% of the ceiling is covered and we're looking forward to getting all the walls covered tomorrow. I have to say thank god that Rachel's father, Ron, is here to help us through this. His knowledge has been even more indispensable than his wonderful toys.. err... tools. We even got the honor of breaking in the new Smack Family Memorial Firepit during and after supper. It's much better than any old copper firepit. Ok, enough talk, on to the photos. |

Queen Venus goes for a ride in LeAnna's papoose Friday morning as work started on the drywalling.

It takes Nathan a few minutes (ok, 20) to figure out that the newly installed peep hole only works one way as he stands in front of the new front door.

Nathan and Rachael's dad, Ron, put their heads together while working on the landing.

Rachael looks up at Nathan as he takes a break from drywalling up on the balcony.

Rachael's dad, Ron stretches out next to the twirling embers from the fire in the "Official Smack Family Firepit" while taking a break after supper.

The radiant Candice gets her marshmallow perilously close to the inferno-on-a-stick that LeAnna is wielding.

Today's my birthday and I thought it might be interesting to take some random photographs throughout the day so I have something to post. I'll try to add photos as I take them. |

It's just after midnight, May 18 and I'm pretty much ready for bed after talking with friends online. Either that or I just sat on a bike with no seat.

During an afternoon walk at Pearson Park, a jogger named Lisa asked if I wanted to see some wild life. Sadly she was only talking about a frog she rescued from the road.

Blooming trees line the edge of the walking trail at the park.

I took a "hail mary" shot over my head as I was walking down the trail.

My family took me out to eat at Ciao! Ristorante and they gave me a free dessert with my meal. Chocolate mousse, waffle cookies, raspberry and chocolate syrup and oh yeah, more chocolate mousse. Mmmmmmm. I don't remember what it was called but it rest assured it was long and Italian sounding.

Since I use Macs (what, me a zealot?), I hadn't seen this site on Internet Explorer for Windows before and didn't realize there were some minor problems. I've fixed most of them and should have the whole thing looking right for Windows users soon. Thanks for your patience.
