Monster Garage II

MII_teaser.jpg It's Memorial Day Weekend and phase 2 of Monster Garage is well underway. (See here and here for the first installments.) The mission: drywall. After Friday's work, 99% of the ceiling is covered and we're looking forward to getting all the walls covered tomorrow. I have to say thank god that Rachel's father, Ron, is here to help us through this. His knowledge has been even more indispensable than his wonderful toys.. err... tools. We even got the honor of breaking in the new Smack Family Memorial Firepit during and after supper. It's much better than any old copper firepit. Ok, enough talk, on to the photos.

It takes Nathan a few minutes (ok, 20) to figure out that the newly installed peep hole only works one way as he stands in front of the new front door.

Nathan and Rachael's dad, Ron, put their heads together while working on the landing.

The radiant Candice gets her marshmallow perilously close to the inferno-on-a-stick that LeAnna is wielding.

Birthday Project

BDfroggie_teaser.jpg Today's my birthday and I thought it might be interesting to take some random photographs throughout the day so I have something to post. I'll try to add photos as I take them.

It's just after midnight, May 18 and I'm pretty much ready for bed after talking with friends online. Either that or I just sat on a bike with no seat.

BDfroggie.jpg

During an afternoon walk at Pearson Park, a jogger named Lisa asked if I wanted to see some wild life. Sadly she was only talking about a frog she rescued from the road.

BDblooms.jpg

Blooming trees line the edge of the walking trail at the park.

BDhailmary.jpg

I took a "hail mary" shot over my head as I was walking down the trail.

BDdessert.jpg

My family took me out to eat at Ciao! Ristorante and they gave me a free dessert with my meal. Chocolate mousse, waffle cookies, raspberry and chocolate syrup and oh yeah, more chocolate mousse. Mmmmmmm. I don't remember what it was called but it rest assured it was long and Italian sounding.

Rugby Practice

rugby_teaser.jpg When you shoot sports, it's always good to know as much as possible about the rules and strategy. That's why it's always a challenge when you have to photograph one you know almost nothing about... like Rugby. So please bear with me on these.

Sweating The Details

Since I use Macs (what, me a zealot?), I hadn't seen this site on Internet Explorer for Windows before and didn't realize there were some minor problems. I've fixed most of them and should have the whole thing looking right for Windows users soon. Thanks for your patience.

Air Force One Revisited

AF1_teaser.jpg The president flew in to Toledo again on Tuesday and AP had me out on the tarmac in case something bad would happen. In effect I was really there for you, my loyal readership. (Thanks, mom!) So I hope you enjoy a couple shots of one of the planes called Air Force One. (One has a tail number 28000, the other has 29000)
