Everybody get comfy on the couch and stuff some popcorn in yer mouths. Here's round two of Dan's vacation pictures! Be glad I'm not into home movies... |

Photos by DANIEL MILLER
Mary Beth is excited to be eating at Pizzaria Uno. (one of the best pizza places in the world)

Mary Beth is not so excited that I usually have a camera attached to my face.

We were heading over to The Gallery at Harborplace (read: the mall) so we took the footbridge to walk over the midday traffic. I looked down and saw a man sitting in the sun quietly doing his daily crossword puzzle.

After taking a wrong turn (and ending up in the Baltimore ghetto) Mary Beth checks her map to plot a new course on our way to shop in Fell's Point.

The Baltimore ghetto. [Edit: I have been informed that this is NOT the ghetto. Actually this was the 'safer' part of the area we drove through, where I wasn't afraid to bring the camera up into plain view. My apologies for the error in labeling -Dan]

The late afternoon sun makes long shadows fall on the herringbone patterned sidewalks of Fell's Point, a quaint, kitschy shopping area near the Inner Harbor.

Despite what you may take from the expression, MB has never seen the movie. Everyone's a critic. (ps. MB, remember to rent the movie!)

Woohoo! My first trackback!
Thanks MB!
Hey, that's not the ghetto. All the windows and doors are NOT boarded up. I drive through the real ghetto every day. I'd get out and take a picture, but I'm too scared to unlock the door.
Posted by: eebmore on December 3, 2003 10:16 AMalso, i really like both of the brick photos.
Posted by: eebmore on December 3, 2003 10:21 AMThanks for the comments eebmore! I've changed the cutline on the "ghetto" pic. =)
Posted by: Dan on December 3, 2003 11:20 AMOoh, Dan, thanks for the reminder about that movie. I almost forgot ... and that would be a crying shame after all the work we went through to make sure I wouldn't forget!! :)
Posted by: MB on December 4, 2003 01:17 AMOh, I wasn't offended at all. I was actually amused by it. "Ghetto" is relative. What is ghetto to the rest of the world is simply working middle class here. ;)
Posted by: eebmore on December 4, 2003 10:27 AMi agree w/ eebmore.... i know ghetto, and that street looks downright pleasent for baltimore
but rad pics
