This was just a nice moment I caught while doing a routine assignment.

I caught wind of this self "day in the life" project from Raena's blog and it sounds like fun so I'll be joining in too! With any luck, I'll be posting pictures of a day in the life of a stranger in a strange place (a yank in Tasmania.)

Deacon Jack Busam gathers himself before speaking during the Memorial Mass celebrating the life of Fr. Gary Miller at St. Peter Church in Huron. The parishoners had grown very fond of Fr. Miller despite the fact he was with the church less than a year.
I just purchased my first digital SLR so I went out to the zoo to give it a quick and dirty test run. I'm extremely impressed with the image quality as well as the price. Hope you guys like wildlife.

I love capturing a "real" moment. When taking portraits it is so important for the subject(s) to be relaxed and when they are already good friends, the job is so much easier. It only took about five minutes for these two to be totally relaxed in front of the camera.

Occasionally an assignment doesn't go quite as planned. I was sent out to get pictures of a part-time farmer for a story but to the dismay of the farmer (and myself), his tractor wouldn't start. I'd have to settle for a portrait and I caught this moment as the farmer was talking to the reporter.
