Toro II

The ethereal effect in this picture was totally ruined when seen in color. Some photos belong in black and white.

The job...

I was sent to the scene of a multiple rollover accident on the Ohio Turnpike and parked about a hundred yards back. As I was walking up to the accident I saw a state trooper slowly looking over the wreckage when suddenly stopped and dropped his head...

An Ohio State Highway Patrolman pauses before the wreckage of a Ford minivan as a Life Flight helicopter waits to transport a victim of the single vehicle crash. The accident happened on the Ohio Turnpike about 2 miles west of the U.S.250 exit. Two passengers were transported to Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center via separate helicopters.

The ground has been scoured in a circular pattern where the Bellevue tornado travelled. The tornado left a trail of destruction from Tiffin, Ohio to just southwest of Bellvue.

This barn was flattened without being directly hit by the tornado. The track of the twister can be seen in the upper right hand corner of the picture. If you look closer, you can also see the farmer burning debris from his own barn just above the silos.

This is what's left of a farmhouse and a large white barn south of Bellevue, Ohio. I actually stopped at this barn the night of the storm and saw the incredible damage from the ground. I had no idea how far the debris was spread.

Storm Warning

On November 10, 2002 our abnormal 60 degree weather came to an abrupt and violent end. A massive cold front spanning from the northern to southern coasts swept through bringing lightning, rain, hail and tornados. So far, the death toll from this storm is up to 36. These are my photographs of the northern ohio region after at least 3 tornados passed through.
