More fireworks… sorta

In honor of the minor league All-Star game the city of Toledo put on a fireworks extravaganza (photodan.net…bringing 25-cent words like that one to you) called “Thunder Over Toledo.” The event was billed to be the most powerful pyrotechnic display in northwest Ohio and it may have been. Too bad most people couldn’t see a large portion of it.

The weather report wasn’t good for fireworks but it was good for keeping spectator crowds down. Since they were committed to go on with the show regardless of the coming rain, I hoped I’d be able to see a decent show and grab a couple shots. Unfortunately, the rain came up just as the show started and the wind ended up blowing most of the smoke straight at downtown, obscuring the rest of the fireworks.
