Devils, Angels or Batman?

I had my ‘nerd time’ over the weekend.

The new incarnation of photodan.net has been up for a while without a Web statistics program to tell me about the hordes of people flocking here. (hordes, trickle… don’t hassle me on the details, man) It tells me so many things like what time people visit, what browser they’re using, what site they’re visiting from… all kinds of cool nerd junk.

What ended up being the most interesting though, was the information telling me that my server was responding to many image requests from another Web site. In real non-geek talk that means, someone is using my images on their site without permission, they are not giving me any credit for creating them and, best of all, I’m paying for the bandwidth for them to do it. WHAT A DEAL!

Now, in the interest of being nice (and not losing any more bandwidth than I have to) I won’t share the links to these sites or name names. But, if either fails to respond positively to my very nice emails explaining why I might find this deal somewhat less than optimal and asking them to please stop doing it, I will have to take some sort of action. After all, *I* am the one in control of the images that these people are requesting.

That’s where you, my faithful readers (both of you… thanks mom, dad) come in.

A) Oh just let the kids steal your images and keep paying for the privilege

B) Don’t be so melodramatic, just take the image off the server

C) Learn them thar kids a lesson by replacing the actual image with goat pr0n instead

D) Call Batman (The Michael Keaton Batman, not the Val Kilmer or Adam West Batman)
